Finding God’s grace in life’s chaos.
The messy, beautiful, and God's perfect grace in an imperfect life.

💛 Made for the Messy
Life is messy. It’s beautiful, chaotic, exhausting, hilarious, and unpredictable… all before 10 a.m. Some days you’re laughing until you cry, and other days you’re praying the coffee is still hot. Through it all, I’ve learned that God doesn’t wait for things to look perfect. He meets us right in the middle of the mayhem.
There’s something powerful about realizing that every mess and every hard moment is an open door for grace and closeness to God. His strength really does show up best when ours runs out.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
I started Made for the Messy as a space to share the real parts of our story: the faith that keeps us going, the homeschool moments that don’t always go as planned, and the things that make life a little easier (and sometimes a lot funnier).
After twelve years living in remote Alaska, where running to Costco or Walmart meant waiting on a nine-seater bush plane, we’re now figuring out life in Texas... trading snow boots for sandals and moose for armadillos. I’ll be sharing bits of both worlds here, along with a few of my favorite finds that bless our home and maybe yours too.
One of those favorites is the [ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal – Isaiah](below). It’s simple and beautiful, with room for notes, doodles, and reflections. I’ve started collecting the whole New Testament set, and they’ve become part of my morning rhythm — perfect for gifts, journaling, or adding a little beauty to your quiet time.
And because I always want to be honest here, part of why I’m building this blog, my social pages, and The School Supply Shelf is to create income that allows me to stay home and homeschool my kids as a solo mom. It’s both exciting and scary, but I’m trusting that God will use this next chapter even if it's messy for His purpose and glory.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
Life really is messy, but with God, it’s beautifully so.
Friend, I’m so glad you’re here. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in. This is going to be fun.
